We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Disability Support Workers. As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. You will work closely with clients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Support clients in developing and maintaining life skills, including meal preparation, housekeeping, and budgeting
- Assist with medication administration and health monitoring as required
- Facilitate community participation and social inclusion for clients
- Implement individual support plans and document progress and observations
- Foster positive and respectful relationships with clients, families, and other support professionals
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care and support for clients
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and guidelines, including occupational health and safety requirements
Requirements:
- Compassionate and empathetic nature
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide person-centered care and support
- Understanding of disability-related challenges and needs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (mandatory)
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- National Police Check (or willingness to undergo)
